Forgotten Arcade Gem: China Gate

The year: 1988. Our local arcade, Aladdin's Castle, had a habit like many arcades of putting the newest, greatest game up front. Imagine my surprise when we rolled into the arcade and saw China Gate. What in the world was a China Gate?

China Gate was designed by Technos Japan and produced by Romstar here in the US. Although not real popular by buddy and I loved this game and poured quarters into it. Somewhat of a rare game to pick up now.

In China Gate two players chose from three ancient Chinese warriors (I preferred the Pig guy) and duked it out on multi layer platforms using melee weapons to turn the tide on the ancient heinous bad dudes. Great gameplay, cool bosses, colorful graphics, and decent sound make this title one I wholeheartedly recommend. Fire up your favorite flavor of Mame and let your inner Monkey hero be unleashed.
